Follifoot Park Riding Centre began with a simple goal: to make horse riding accessible to everyone. Since its founding in 1986, the centre has become a fundamental part of the equestrian community in and around Harrogate and Knaresborough.
The Centre has invested in a fantastic indoor and floodlit outdoor arena. Along with a purpose built room for a Dressage Simulator, racing simulator and 2 meeting rooms. Follifoot Park Riding Centre is a place where anybody with a passion for horses will love to visit!
Follifoot Park Riding Centre is owned and managed by Julie and Chris Pedley, along with daughter Ellie-Jay who all play vital roles in the day-to-day running of the centre. Son, Toby and Chris Pedley are both farriers, and Follifoot Park has an onsite Forge. The Pedley family’s love of horses and commitment to the local community is at the heart of everything.
From the Team!
At Follifoot Park Riding Centre, we believe that riding should be a joyful experience, whether you’re just starting out or have years of experience in the saddle. We love to see people getting as much out of their contact with horses as we do! Our facilities cater to all levels of ability, from absolute beginners to advanced riders.
All our facilities are regularly maintained and upgraded to ensure the best possible environment for both horse and rider. Our livery services provide excellent care and comfort for those with their own horses.
At the core of our riding centre is a commitment to personal growth and achievement, no matter how big or small your goals may be. Whether you’re here for a one-off lesson, a regular ride, or looking to join our livery community, you’ll find a warm welcome waiting for you.
The Centre is home to the Follifoot Park Disabled Riders Group, a cause close to our hearts. In 2010 the Pedley family completed work on the Stouse, a purpose-built ‘stable’ which houses Storm a Dressage Simulator, one of the two mechanical horse simulators at Follifoot Park. Horse simulators are the perfect way for nervous, inexperienced, or disabled riders to enter the world of horse-riding. Storm, the other mechanical horse, also provides dressage simulation for experienced riders.
Our horses and ponies are carefully selected by Julie and Ellie-Jay. They’re chosen for versatility in switching between different disciplines, allowing them to accommodate a wide range of riding abilities. Our horses are chosen for their superb temperaments, making them ideal for both nervous riders and those with disabilities. We have horses who enjoy activities like jumping, hacking, and dressage. Our horses love a variety of work and so do our riders!
Are you or your child ready to embark on your riding journey or elevate your existing skills?
